Auto painting and color matching

A repair is only finished when the paint matches and lasts.

Refinishing done in a paint booth

Painting is done in a paint booth, where the surface is prepared and the finish is applied under controlled conditions. Careful preparation is what makes a repair last.

The paint system

We use the PPG Envirobase High Performance waterborne paint system. Waterborne paint is a low-VOC system, in line with the environmental rules that now apply to automotive refinishing. It is also designed to reproduce your vehicle's color accurately.

What to expect

  • The repaired area is prepared, painted and finished to blend with the rest of the vehicle.
  • If your car needs structural or body work first, painting follows once that is complete. See collision and body repair.
  • The finish is covered by our workmanship guarantee for as long as you own the vehicle, subject to the shop's guarantee terms.

Common questions

Will the new paint match my car?

We refinish with the PPG Envirobase waterborne paint system, which is designed for accurate color matching, and we match the repaired area to the rest of your vehicle as closely as possible.

Why is a very cheap paint job a risk?

Paint work depends on preparation, materials and the booth it is done in. A low price can mean shortcuts that show up later as peeling, fading or a visible color difference.
